What we do
We review international bookmakers that accept Ethiopian players and document, with the same checklist every time, what a bettor needs before registering: which promo code to use and where, what bonus it opens and on what terms, how to deposit and withdraw in Birr, what licence the operator holds and — since December 2025 — what the absence of an Ethiopian licence means for you.
How we rate
Ratings are editorial. We assign them after reading each operator's terms and the most recent independent audits; they are not user averages and operators do not set them. Eight categories, each from 1 to 5, all shown in every review:
- Sports: sports and market coverage, live betting, streaming, Ethiopian and African competitions.
- Casino: catalogue size, studios, live casino, quick games.
- Payments: Ethiopian channels (Telebirr, CBE Birr, M-Pesa, banks, agents), minimums, fees.
- Withdrawals: published payout times, KYC requirements, transparency.
- App: Android and iOS availability and what the app adds.
- Bonuses: not the size but the relationship between size, rollover, bet type, odds and deadline. A 30x requirement lowers the score whatever the percentage.
- Usability: how quickly a new user finds their way around.
- Support: channels, hours, languages, cost of calling.
What we publish and what we refuse to
- We quote bonus caps, rollovers, deadlines, payment limits and licence numbers only when the operator or a dated audit publishes them. Where they disagree — Melbet's bonus cap, 1xBet's validity period — we show the range rather than the flattering number.
- We do not describe any of these brands as licensed in Ethiopia, because none is.
- We do not invent conditions for the promo codes supplied to us; they are presented with the operators' published terms only.
- We do not publish "no-deposit" offers, unverified helplines, countdowns or claims about winnings.
- Every page shows the date of our last check.
How the site is funded
The "Go to 1xBet", "Go to Melbet" and "Go to Win Win Bet" links are affiliate links. If you register through them, the operator may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, does not change the bonus you receive and does not change what we write; operators do not review or approve our content.
On the legal situation
Since 15 December 2025 no sports betting operator is licensed in Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Lottery Service warns the public against unlicensed services. We state this on every relevant page and in the footer. Our reviews describe international operators that Ethiopians can reach; they are not a statement that using them is lawful for you, and nothing here is legal or tax advice. Read the legal status guide.
Responsible gambling
All content is for adults. Every review links to responsible gambling, which lists the operators' limit and self-exclusion tools and where to find help.
Corrections
If you find an outdated figure, a code that is no longer accepted or an error, write to us. We correct the page and update its review date.
